At the working session, the two parties shared information on Cuba's agricultural development policy; learn about Vietnam's experiences and policies in agricultural and food production development; the organization of VNFU and discussed about the networking opportunities between VNFU and the National Association of Small Farmers of Cuba (ANAP).
 

On the occasion, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan shared with Mr. Ydael Pérez Brito about Vietnam's achievements in the fields of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.


Currently, there has been breakthrough progress in the field, especially, the construction of infrastructure in the rural areas, thereby, the living standards of farmers have been increasingly improved. With the achievements, the Party Central Committee recently continued to issue new resolutions on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, which affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always considered agriculture, farmers and rural areas as the backbone of the economy.

 
On that basis, VNFU cooperated with relevant Ministries and agencies to support farmers in the economic development. VNFU signed a coordination program with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement solutions in order to promote agricultural and rural development. VNFU had Supporting Fund for Farmers to support its farmer members with loans to develop production models.

 
Besides, VNFU also organized many service activities to provide production input for farmers; coordinates with enterprises to support output consumption for farmers; built shops to help them consume agricultural products…

 
At the working session, Mr. Ydael Pérez Brito expressed his pleasure to visit and work with VNFU and his thankfulness to Mr. Luong Quoc Doan for taking the time to receive and work with the delegation.

 

The Minister informed VNFU Chairman about the visit and work to Vietnam of Mr. Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba. Mr. Ydael Pérez Brito affirmed that he would always support the relationship between VNFU and ANAP and desired the two parties to cooperate and develop together in all fields.
