Vietnam Farmers’ Union – Petro Vietnam Insurance: Cooperation in welfare programme for members, farmers
(HND Portal)- On the afternoon of January 11, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Nguyen Xuan Dinh had a work meeting with PVI Insurance Corporation.
At the meeting, Deputy General Director of PVI Insurance Corporation Nguyen Minh An introduced the company's activities.
PVI Insurance provides non-life insurance products (including voluntary and compulsory insurance products) such as: Construction insurance, Fire and explosion insurance and special risks, Property insurance, Health care insurance, Occupational accident and sickness insurance and some insurance products for Farmers' Union according to needs to take care and support for members and farmers.
PVI will have a preferential policy to discount at least 15% of the selling price of voluntary insurance products compared to the listed market price for VNFU’s members. Every year, 2% of the total pre-tax insurance revenue (introduced by the Union’s system under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union) is transferred to Vietnam Farmers' Union to organize the implementation of care activities and strengthen social activities for members, farmers.
According to the actual situation in the localities, PVI Insurance agreed to partially support the grassroots Unions introducing and promoting insurance products and insurance services to members and farmers, organize charity social activities of the grassroots Unions. The minimum support level is at least 3% of the insurance revenue for the grassroots Unions introducing insurance products for PVI Insurance.
PVI will participate in activities and events to support farmers such as New Year's Eve, Tradditional fairs, social and charity activities of the Association such as helping poor households and families in remote areas, policy families on the annual occasion of the Lunar New Year, award scholarships to poor students.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Dinh said: VNFU would choose the service package that best suits the conditions of farmers. PVI insurance should be deployed in some provinces and cities and then replicated.
According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Dinh, during the implementation process, it is necessary to focus on propaganda so that farmers understand the benefits of participating in Insurance, including PVI Insurance, then they will have suitable options. In addition, it is necessary to implement well guidance for members and farmers in a specific way as well as to study to integrate direct and online propaganda activities. During the implementation process, if a risk occurs, there must be a solution to harmonize the interests of the service provider as well as the insurance participants.
