VNFU supported members to build more than 5.100 collective economic models
 |
In 2022, all levels of VNFU expect to build more than 310 cooperatives and 2500 collective groups |
Typical models are Japanese grass-growing group (with 11 members), the bonsai plating group (10 members) in Nam Thang commune, Nam Truc district (Nam Dinh province). Every month, the collective groups maintain activities, creating conditions for members to exchange experiences, techniques and apply them to production as well as access and share information about the consumption markets. For example, a member of the bonsai planting group has from 720m2 to 1800m2 of planting land/household with all kinds of seedlings with annual incomes ranging from a few tens of millions to several hundred million VND per household.
20 farmer member households in Dong Phu commune, Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province) established fruit tree group. The households agreed to only grow 3 main types of trees, namely longan, pomelo and guava, together forming a concentrated planting area of tens of hectares. As a result, many households earn hundreds of millions of VND per year.
Realizing that the group worked effectively, many households in the commune asked to join. In order to help members have more favorable production conditions, the commune Farmers' Union has transformed the collective group model into Dong Phu commune professional brand of fruit tree planting with 32 members, core members from the old group.
Being mobilized and propagated by VNFU, Nui May safe agricultural product cooperative (Thai Binh commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province) was established with 6 members led by Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, focused on breeding, producing and trading of breeding goats, meat goats, goats with jaws, organic fertilizers. After 1 year of operation, the cooperative has supplied to the market 200 breeding goats and over 531 tons of goats of all kinds, nearly 14 tons of organic fertilizer, the revenue of the cooperative reached 300 million VND. Typically, Mr. Tran Van Thanh's household has an income of about 100 million VND from goats. Notably, the "Fresh Goat Nui May" product of the cooperative has been recognized as an OCOP product in 2021.
The agricultural and forestry service production cooperative in Thien Long commune, Binh Gia district (Lang Son province) was coordinated by the district Farmers’ Union with functional branches to train and transfer scientific and technical advances, organize study tours and support the cooperative to consume products. In particular, the cooperative has 02 models, namely the 3B Cow raising collective group and the afforestation collective group, which have been affirming their practical effectiveness.
Mr. Vien Van Giai is the chairman of Thien Long Commune Farmers' Union and a member of 3B Cow raising collective group. Initially, he raised 2 cows experimentally, after more than 1 year of taking care, each cow reached a weight of 400 - 500kg, earned over 80 million VND. From this capital, he continued to upgrade the barn and invested in 4 more 3B cows. Currently, he has 7 cows that are preparing for sell (weighing from 500 to 700 kg/cow), which can bring in an income of over 400 million VND (estimated at market prices to). Realizing the high economic efficiency from raising 3B cows, many farmer members boldly signed up to join the collective group. In the whole commune, there are 5 members involved in raising 3B cows with the total number of cows up to 40 heads.
Along with that, in order to improve the efficiency of production models in the direction of concentration, the agricultural and forestry service production cooperative has established collective groups such as the cinnamon tree planting group with a total area of over 50 hectares; the collective group for planting acacia, oleander and sweet potato, attracting many members to participate. On the other hand, the commune continues to deploy and establish self-management groups to build a model of waste treatment for environmental protection, which is directly guided and implemented by the Farmers’ Union at its branches. This is one of the important factors contributing to the completion of environmental criteria, speeding up the progress of bringing Thien Long commune to the new rural destination in 2021.
Phuoc Hau Agricultural Service Cooperative - Phuoc Hau commune, Ninh Phuoc district (Ninh Thuan province) with 17 members is entitled to a loan of 450 million VND from the Farmers Supporting Fund to invest in buying 9 lawn mowers and 70 breeding pigs to implement black pig farming model. In order to reduce investment costs, instead of letting members raise individually, the cooperative arranged a large area of land, planted bananas around the garden to serve food on the spot, and together followed the technical process to ensure quality assurance. Thanks to that, the pig herd developed well, initially provided breeding stock for some households in the region and selling meat to restaurants and hotels in the province and the southern region.
In 2021, Farmers’ Union facilitated the cooperative to borrow VND 850 million from the provincial Farmers Supporting Fund to focus on developing and improving black pig products to create added value. With the capital, the cooperative invested in building 2 breeding farms with a scale of 200 pigs, each year exporting more than 1 ton of meat to the market, providing hundreds of breeds for members and relatives in the area. The cooperative's pork products have been granted Collective Labels, creating trust among consumers and improving competitiveness in the market.
In addition, the cooperative has pioneered in mobilizing 103 farmers of Hieu Le village to collaborate with 5 enterprises for production in large-field models along the value chain associated with agricultural product consumption on an area of 56 hectares. Since the success of the first case, the model's spread has been increasingly confirmed. Up to now, the large field area managed by the cooperative has increased to 172 hectares/321 participating households, of which, there are 116 hectares associated with Nha Ho Seed Joint Stock Company and Hung Hao Rice Mill Factory to produce high-quality rice seed, the average yield is 75.5 quintals/ha, the output is over 1,420 tons/crop. From developing professions in line with reality, organizing production with steps and rules has led the cooperative to develop more and more, the average profit is from 1-1.5 billion VND/year.
In the coming time, VNFU at all levels will focus on raising awareness of officials, farmer members about the role and position of the cooperative economy, especially the new type of cooperatives in the market economy; gather and attract a large number of members and farmers to participate in collective economic forms. In 2022, grassroots FUs strive to build more than 310 cooperatives and more than 2.500 collective groups, contributing to increasing members' incomes and socio-economic development, building advanced new rural areas.
