Vietnam Farmers’ Union held the inauguration of the historic traditional house of the former CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Farmer Mobilization
On October 12, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union led by Standing Vice Chairman Pham Tien Nam returned to the revolutionary base and held the inauguration of the historic traditional house of the former CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Farmer Mobilization in Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province.
On the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, on October 12, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union led by Standing Vice Chairman Pham Tien Nam returned to the revolutionary base and held the inauguration of the historic traditional house of the former CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Farmer Mobilization in Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province.
“When drinking water, think of its source”
Having spoken at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Pham Tien Nam said: From 1952 to 1954, the office of former Commission for Farmer Mobilization had been based at Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune, Son district. Duong, Tuyen Quang province.
During the time working here, under the leadership of the Party, the protection and care of the local people, the former Commission for Farmer Mobilization gathered the Vietnamese peasantry with unity, set up a strong force, well perform the task of mobilizing people to participate in the resistance war, develop the organization of the Union across the country; contribute to the complete victory of the resistance war.
With the tradition of “When drinking water, think of its source”, preserving and promoting traditional values during the years of resistance against the French invasion, in 2005, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union invested in building a monumental stele house on an area of 1,024m2.
In 2019, towards the 90th anniversary of the tradition, the Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Union has mobilized officials and members of farmers nationwide to support the construction of a bridge across Khuon Pen stream to the relic site. At the same time, the Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Committee of Tuyen Quang province funded the construction of 20.75m of stream embankment, worth 450 million VND to ensure safety in the rainy season for the works on both sides of the bridge across the Khuon Pen stream to the relic site.
With an aim to make the relic worthy of its historical role and become a destination for officials, members, farmers and tourists from all over the world, in 2020, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union has planned to embellish, expand the relic site in terms of area size, add a traditional display house and auxiliary components.

Promoting patriotic traditions of the peasantry
Standing Vice Chairman Pham Tien Nam emphasized: The monumental stele house, the traditional house of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union are the important places in educating patriotic traditions. This is a very meaningful work, in order to preserve and promote the best traditional patriotic cultural values of the Vietnamese peasantry, traditional education for future generations...
After the inauguration, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union handed over this project to Tuyen Quang Farmers’ Union (TQFU) for management and requested TQFU to coordinate with relevant agencies in well performing the communication, introduction and promotion of the monument widely; at the same time, develop regulations; especially preserve the natural landscape, a green, clean and beautiful environment for the visit of farmers, members and effective exploitation.
Ms. Dao Thi Mai - TQFU’s Chairwoman said: The project consists of a 2-storey reinforced concrete house with a construction area of 130m2, a floor area of 110m2; toilet area. Ancillary items include: Gate, fence, concrete yard, flower bed, green trees, the repaired stele house.
The total investment of the project is nearly 2.44 billion VND, derived from the funding of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade of Vietnam and other legal mobilized capital sources.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Minh Xuan - Standing Vice Chairwoman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Council expressed thanks to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union for supporting and motivating Tuyen Quang province to thrive.
“The Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Union has constructed the meaningful works where will be a place to preserve the history of the establishment, growth and development of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union. At the same time, it is also an address for traditional education, meetings and exchanges of farmers, officials and members from the province and across the country, contributing to exploiting the potential of spiritual cultural tourism, associated with developing eco-tourism in the locality” - Ms. Xuan emphasized.
