The inspection team of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam worked with the Department for the Advancement of Women of Vietnam Farmers' Union

(VNFU Portal) – This morning, November 18, in Hanoi, there is a working session of the Inspection Delegation of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam with the Department of the Advancement of Women of VNFU, led by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, member of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam Trinh Thi Thuy.
Attending the meeting, on the side of the VNFU were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Vice Chairman of the VNFU, member of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam, Director  of the Department for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam of VNFU and members of Department for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam of VNFU...  


At the meeting, Mr. Pham Xuan Hong, Director of Administration Department, Department for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam of VNFU presented the report of the Department for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam of VNFU.


Under the leadership and direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Standing Committee of VNFU, in coordination with all levels, branches, organizations of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Viet Nam, especially is from the progressive and assiduous spirit, striving to overcome difficulties and to complete the task, which is a favorable condition for the work of female cadres, for gender equality and for the work of VNFU’s for advancement of women.

The Department for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam of VNFU has paid attention to the propaganda and implementation of gender equality and the advancement of women; actively disseminate the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the Government’s policies and laws on gender equality, work  of female cadre and for the advancement of women, propaganda and integration in the performance of professional work; on the Association's press and communication system.

The Department for the Advancement of Women has coordinated with the Union of VNFU to capture the thoughts and desires, and promptly give spiritual and material encouragement to female cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees . Departments and units of VNFU and members of the Department for the Advancement of Women of VNFU actively integrate the implementation of gender equality and the advancement of women in performing their professional duties, and is interested in organizing propaganda activities to promote gender equality and for the advancement of women. Through propaganda activities, awareness and responsibility of all levels of Party committees, agencies, departments, units, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees are raised.

In VNFU, there currently are 110 female employees in 209 total number of official cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees who are working in 15 departments and affiliated units, accounting for over 52, 6% (of which female party members are 104/110, accounting for 94.5%). 107/110 female officers have professional qualifications from university or higher, accounting for 51.2% (of which 01 comrade has a doctorate degree, 37 comrades have a master's degree); 43/97 female cadres with bachelor's or senior's degree in political theory accounted for 44.3%; 26/39 female cadres have intermediate level of political theory, accounting for 66.7%; 09/27 female comrades got the rank of senior expert accounted for 33%, 21/44 female comrades got the rank of main expert accounted for 47.7%. 06/10 female comrades are directors or deputy directors department, accounting for 60%.

There were 21 female comrades who were added to the promotion list for the position of directors and deputy directors of departments and units for the 2018-2023 term; 38 female comrades were directors and deputy directors of departments and units for the term of 2023 - 2028; There were 02 female comrades who were promoted for the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of VNFU by the VNFU Administration Department term of 2023 - 2028. The work of advancement of women and gender equality of VNFU has been effectively integrated with many practical contents in the professional work of departments and units.
 
 
VNFU has coordinated with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and relevant ministries and agencies to develop the project " Prevent, combat and respond to violence and other harmful behaviours in the 2022 – 2026 period "; organize training courses on prevention of gender/domestic violences for provincial FUs; and improving knowledge and skills in life management for the PMU of Responsible father model in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Bac Giang provinces. By actively promoting the communication and replication of propaganda models of gender equality and domestic violence prevention in many provinces, it has contributed to raising awareness for couples, especially men in building a happy and civilized farmer family.


Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Dinh suggested that the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam  shall continue to strengthen the coordination with VNFU to have national policies, programs and projects. to improve the quality of life for female staff and members.


Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, member of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam, Mrs.Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the efforts and recognized the achievements of Department of the Advancement of Women of VNFU the in the past. At the same time, Mrs. Trinh Thi Thuy requested that: In the coming time, Department of the Advancement of Women of VNFU would continue to coordinate with ministries and sectors to develop mechanisms and policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women; focus on training and planning for female cadres; strengthen interdisciplinary in gender equality work…
