VNFU worked with the Provincial Party Committee on the Congress of FUs at all levels in the province

(VNFU Portal) - On the morning of March 1, 2023, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (VNFU) worked in Bac Lieu province on the preparation of the Provincial Farmers' Union Congress for the term 2023 - 2028 and the Bac Lieu Provincial Farmers’ Union contribution in the construction of new countryside.
The delegation was led by Comrade Cao Xuan Thu Van - Vice Chairwoman of VNFU. On the side of Bac Lieu, Comrade Le Thi Ai Nam - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting.

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Truong Thanh Nha - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Union, said Bac Lieu completed the FU commune-level congress on February 28, 2023 in Lang Tron ward, Gia Rai town. Up to now, there have been 18 grassroots FUs finished organizing the Congress, the remaining 45 grassroots FUs will simultaneously organize the Congress in March 2023. It is expected that the Congress of Farmers’ Union Gia Rai town – the district congress unit will be taken place in early April 2023.
Regarding the construction of new rural areas, FUs at all levels in the province have actively implemented many activities, especially propaganda and advocacy activities. The provincial FU cooperates with professional departments and enterprises to organize many training courses on cultivation techniques, animal husbandry, waste treatment, pesticide treatment, organize business startup classes, and e-commerce trading platforms for businesses. members and farmers. FUs at all levels also made campaigns to propagate farmers to buy health insurance  . However, the construction of VNFU in the development of the "one commune, one product" program (OCOP) only stopped at propaganda and advocacy.
Discussing more about the content of the Provincial Farmers’ Union Congress for the term 2023 - 2028, Mr. Ho Thanh Thuy – Director of the Organization Committee of Provincial Party Committee's suggested that the Party Union of Provincial Farmers’ Union to soon complete the personnel project of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, Inspection Committee, the delegation that will participate to the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Congress to submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Le Thi Ai Nam said that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee are interested in the Provincial Farmers’ Union Congress. She also assessed that the work of the VNFU and the farmers' movement in the province in recent years has developed with  practical effect, associated with the province's socio-economic development goals and brought results. The organization of the FU is regularly consolidated, focusing on the quality of members.
Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee once again requested that at the beginning of the second quarter of 2023, the Provincial Farmers’ Union cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a conference with the purpose of evaluating the models to identify the typical models for Bac Lieu farmers in all 3 production areas. (salt water, fresh water and brackish water).
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Cao Xuan Thu Van said that there should be suggestions for the congress document preparation to thoroughly grasp the Resolutions 18, 19 and 20 of the Party Central Committee (term XIII). For the personnel of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers’ Union of Bac Lieu province in the new term, there must be some staffs with knowledge and skills in doing business.
Chairwomen of VNFU also agreed with the comments and assessments of the provincial Party Committee's leaders towards the FUs, and asked the provincial FU to develop a financial autonomy plan, a job location scheme, a property exploitation Project of Provincial People's Committee project.
