As one of the potential products, Van Hoang An chung cake was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. The product was labeled with the name of the producer and a traceability stamp, using vacuum technology to facilitate the transportation and preservation.
According to Ms. Ton Nu Ngoc Tuyet, Chairman of the Hoang An Commune Farmers’ Union, "Van Hoang An chung cake is consumed favorably; the market for this product expands from supermarkets to retail systems in Ha Noi, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen".
The Farmers' Union has guided and branded the Phi Dien Apple product as a 3-star OCOP product. This is one of the famous specialties of Luc Ngan - the capital of the fruit tree region. With an area of over 200ha growing mainly two varieties of spring apple (100ha) and Taiwanese apple (100ha), Phi Dien Agricultural Cooperative has a total cultivation area of more than 45ha complying with VietGAP standards.
To support members and apple farmers, the cooperative has cooperated with the Farmers' Union and professional agencies to open training courses on growing and taking care of the apples according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards and created favorable conditions for growers to borrow preferential loans.
According to Mr. Phan Van Net, Chairman of the Commune Farmers' Union cum the Director of the cooperative, "The OCOP program has helped the farmers change their mindset on the production, quality, packaging design as well as traceability labels. Hence, the products will reach a new level". Currently, the Phi Dien Apple product has a selling price ranging from VND40,000 to 45,000 per kg. On average, 1 ha growing the apples generates an income of VND500-600 million.
In 2022, Huong Son clean pineapple was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. Along with maintaining and ensuring the quality of pineapples complying with the VietGap standards, the product has beautiful and environmentally friendly packaging with clear traceability stamps; especially, the packaging designs are diverse, beautiful, solemn, safe, convenient and suitable for each customer segment.
In the coming time, the Farmers’ Union of all levels will continue to support product owners to propagate the cultural value of the products, promoting the strengths of OCOP products.
