VNFU Chairman visits a mango farmer with annual income of nearly 1 billion dong
On May 18th, Chairman of VNFU, Thao Xuan Sung, and the delegation paid a visit to mango models and broiler farming in cool house models of farmers in Cao Lam District (Khanh Hoa Province).

The chairman highly appreciated farmers who had been making breakthrough in seed selection, high quality mango farming, market connection. He assessed that mangoes produce by farmers there were high in productivity, had appealing look and very delicious.
Nevertheless, as farmers in Cam Lam had yet to exploit the full potential around them, Chairman Sung directed District FU to work with relevant bodies to develop local mango products integrating with tourism service development. He believed that it would help provide shade and space for tourists to enjoy themselves among the nature, especially mango gardens, which would bring the chance for farmers to enrich themselves in the sandy land.
Chairman of Cam Hiep Bac (Cam Lam) Communal FU, Tran Van Thu reported that with support of the Supporting Fund for Farmers, 15 mango farm households were able to access to the loan valueing one billion dong. This preferential loan enabled local farmers to install water saving irrigation systems in their mango gardens. Thanks to this, many once-poor farm-households has successfully escaped from poverty and been generating from 200 to 300 million dong per hectare on average.

On this occasion, the delegation of VNFU also chose to visit the farm of Nguyen Son, one of many local outstanding farmers in Cam Hai Tay Commune, Cam Lam District. Son informerd that with nearly 3 hectares of land, his familfamily decided to invest in Taiwan, Australia and Hoa Loc originated mangoes. With selling price at the rate of 40,000 - 70,000 dong for a kilogramogram and even reaching 100,000 dong per kilogram during Tet Holiday, on average, his family makes from 800 million to 1 billion dong in annual income. Currently, his farm is under the stage of completing the facility to integrate mango production with tourism development.
That afternoon, as planned, the delegation visited and had a working session with Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committeettee. And during the stay in Khanh Hoa, the Chairman of VNFU also paid a visit to Phu Tho 3 Fish Sauce Village in Hoa Hiep Trung Town, Dong Hoa District, Phu Yen Province.
