Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VNFU): Visiting, encouraging members, farmers affected by the storm No. 3
On sharing the difficulties and losses caused by the storm No. 3, the Provincial Farmers’ Union have proposed to the central Farmers’ Union (VNFU) to consider and provide supplementary fund, especially from Supporting Fund for Farmers to help members and farmers in the province borrow so as to reinvest in production after floods.
On this occasion, the Mission visited and donated 3 million dongs to Ms. H’Lom's family in Pang So hamlet, Dak Som commune, Dak Glong district. Ms. H’Lom was swept away by the floods, leaving two young children behind.
The delegation also called on life, production of Dak Som people. The Vice Chairman shared that he wished Dak Som commune people to promote solidarity and together overcome difficulties and stabilize life.
The No. 3 storm killed 5 people, hundreds of houses were damaged and serious landslides orcurred in village 14, Dak Sin commune (Dak R’lap district). The whole province has over 703 ha of rice flooded, 622 ha of crops broken, 39 ha of farm produce affected and about 1,880 cattle and poultry died; about 30 km of roads and river banks were eroded, many stretchs of road were flooded; dozens of bridges and culverts were washed away; electrical equipment was damaged; four reservoirs which were irrigation works and one surrounding dike were damaged with total losses estimated at 190 billion dongs.
