VNFU to organize Training workshop on experiences of Japan in agriculture, farmer and rural development

(VNFU Website) – The workshop is expected to take place in two days in Hanoi in the beginning of September 2018. Its organizers are VNFU and TOA Institution (Japan).
 
On June 7, in Hanoi, Vice Chairperson of VNFU, Nguyen Hong Ly, hosted a working session with Japanese delagation headed by the First Secretary of Japan Embassy in Vietnam, Hiroshi Matsuura, and Deputy Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam, Naoki Kakioka.

Also participating the session were leaders of departments and units of VNFU, Mr. Naoki Kayano (JICA Vietnam) and other staff of Japan Embassy and JICA in Vietnam.
 
Targetting at providing key leaders of VNFU and relevant ministries, sectors with information, experience of Japan, giving direction for cooperation programes in agro-forestry and fishery between Vietnam and Japan in the future, VNFU developed a proposal to organize “Training Workshop on Agriculture, Farmer and Rural Development – Lessons learned from reality”. In order to obtain best result, VNFU invited its partners from Japan to have an open discussion content and other matters regarding to the workshop.
  
On the terms of its outputs, the workshop is expected to help provide basic knowledge of Japanese policies on agricultural, farmer and rural development, various efficient models in Japan; learn proper lessons for Vietnam’s cases; develop proposals to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the State’s bodies and VNFU; identify focal aspects that VNFU can work on with Japanese partners in relation to agro-forestry and fishery in the future. Post-workshop activities are planned to be making workshop proceedings, compiling writing materials for disseminating and training on results obtained during the workshop for sub-levels of VNFU.

Mr. Hiroshi Matsuura, representing the Japan Embassy in Vietnam, expressed his gratitude towards VNFU leaders for holding such an active meeting. He was very supportive of the workshop and proclaimed that the Embassy would be willing to cooperate on budget, inviting speakers specializing in matters VNFU were concerning for the workshop.
 
On behalf of VNFU, Vice Chairperson Nguyen Hong Ly were grateful the Japanese party for giving out sincere suggestions, advices to help VNFU in the preparation for the workshop. The Vice Chairperson assigned International Cooperation Department to exchange more specifically with the Japanese party to identify themes which should be focused on urgent issues faced by Vietnamese rural areas, and agricultural development in Vietnam for the workshop’s content. She also hoped for closer cooperation and support for VNFU from the Japan Embassy and JICA in Vietnam so as to give the workshop the best conditions to proceed as planned and achieve good results.
