Vietnam – South Korea: To bring IT to agricultural production

(VNFU Website) – On June 7, in Hanoi, Vice Chairperson of VNFU, Pham Tien Nam, and leaders of departments and units of VNFU had a meeting with the President of Agerigna Co. (South Korea) and Viettel Group to discuss the cooperation on seting up and operating “Center for applying information technology to connect farmers – Nongtalk Center”.

At the meeting, Vice Chairperson Pham Tien Nam stated: “VNFU is currently accelarating the application of new technology and IT to agricultural production, especially in the context of Agriculture 4.0. The strength of South Korea in applying hi-tech to farming, and technology solutions for an efficient agriculture provided by Viettel Group will help Vietnamese farmers to gain the access to information neccessary for creating safe, high quality and productivity farm products.”

During the session, the three parties discussed content of the tripartite MOU. Furthermore, they also agreed on the procedures and regulations of the Center, etc.

Mr. Im Byoung Min (AGERIGNA, Co.) affirmed that with years of experience in IT, large resources of technology and personnel network, AGERIGNA would do the best to cooperate with VNFU and Viettel Group in order to support Vietnamese farmers in promoting the application of technology to agriculture production.
 
Mr. Dinh Duc Hung (Viettel Group) informed that Viettel would invest in resources and technology solutions to pave the way for the project towards success.
 
After the meeting, all parties are going to continue to go through and have discussions to complete the MOU so as to speed up the progress towards the stablishment of the Center so that it can soon help Vietnamese farmers improve their income and living conditions.
