Nam Dinh Province: Enhancing computer and smartphone skills for 200 members and farmers
An overview of the training course in Phuong Dinh Commune, Truc Ninh District
After one year of implementation, 200 local members and farmers now have basic knowledge and skills of computer, the internet and smartphone. During each training course, trainers directly give instructions to each trainee with the help of other trainees that grasp the concept more quickly.
Post training, 100% of trainees knew how to create document, access to the internet, search for information, create a gmail account, their skills in accessing, using and sharing information related to production and business were also improved.
Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, a farmer member in Trung Thanh Commune, Vu Ban District, shared that in the era of technology, they (farmers) wished to be able to proactively find and learn new knowledge of production practices, market prices, etc. Thus, she and other farmers were beyond excited to participate the training course on the Internet organized by the provincial FU.
After taking part in training courses, many members, farmers have been disseminating and conveying what they learned about computer and smartphone to more than 550 people.
In 2017, the provincial FU established 8 ‘Farmers with the Internet’ online clubs with 200 members and 8 offline ones with 126 members. For example, Minh Thuan Commune Google Club, Trung Dong Commune Google Club, Phuong Dinh Commune Google Club, etc.
The clubs meet once a month, members actively promote the application of technology to production and daily life. These clubs also connect to the fanpage ‘Farmers with Internet’ created and managed by the National Project Unit. Through the fanpage, members can update information on production experience, markets, prices, product promotion, etc.
In 2018, the provincial FU will continue to organize and expand training courses on ‘enhancing computer and smartphone skill of farmers and VNFU officers’; hold workshop for experience exchange for farmers, staff and the provincial project management unit; support, guide and keep the clubs active, and establish new online and offline clubs.
