Vice Standing Chairman Leu Vu Dieu expects that in the coming period, FAO will continue to pay attention and facilitate the FFF program phase II to be more effective.
According to Mr. Jeffrey Y Campbell, the FFF program phase II in Vietnam (2018-2022) will help improve the capacity of Vietnamese forest and farm producer organizations to sustainably develop, reduce poverty and adapt to climate change. This will create cross-sectoral forums among Governmental agencies, local authorities and relevant stakeholders to enhance the involvement of the Farmers’ Union, forest and farm producer organizations; improve the capacity of Farmers’ Union for policy advocacy, advisory support and service provision for forest and farm producer organizations, farmers in production planning, value chains and cooperative development.
Vice Standing Chairman said that in phase II, VNFU would coordinate to mobilize resources and people to implement the program.
At present, VNFU is also proposing to the Government and relevant ministries to support farmers in implementing the FFF program to protect the environment and adapt to climate change as Vietnam is one of the countries affected by climate change.
“VNFU is committed to mobilize all resources within the farmers to implement the program, consolidate the cooperatives, cooperative groups engaging in phase I and enhance the effectiveness of phase II.” – Mr. Leu Vu Dieu affirmed.
