VNFU attended the World Farmers' Organization (WFO) General Assembly

(VNFU Portal) – From 21-25 May 2023, World Farmers' Organization (WFO) in collaboration with Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI), African Farmers' Association of South Africa (AFASA) and Wildlife Ranching South Africa (WRSA) co-hosted the 2023 World Farmers' Organization (WFO) General Assembly in Sun City, South Africa.

The topic "Investing in farmers' solutions for the resilient  food systems with a positive impact on nature”  at the General Assembly, the delegates discussed and shared experiences of farmers around the world in Protecting and restoring biodiversity that helps address the global challenges of transitioning to resilient Food Systems.
 
The Assembly elected an additional Vice President; amending and supplementing the WFO's Trade policy; approving the 2022 budget settlement, approving the 2023 and 2024 budget estimates; elect the Audit Committee; agreed on the venue for the 2024 Conferencein Italy.
 
Within the framework of the General Assembly, there were also consultation activities on the food system, renewable food, farmer-centered and climate-smart agricultural initiatives, creating opportunities for farmers to share experiences about food systems, renewable food, discuss solutions to protect food security and protect the environment. The delegates affirmed the importance of strengthening the relationship between farmers and scientists around the world in research, combining farmers' knowledge and scientists' knowledge as well as applications. research results at the facility.
 
At the General Assembly, the delegates agreed to establish the Solidarity Fund of the WFO (Solidarity Fund) with the aim of " No Member is Left Behind" .
