From 17th to 22th November 2025, within the framework of project activities, Oxfam Stichting Novib that organized two consecutive events in Malaysia, “2025 Regional Learning and Sharing Workshop and 2026 Planning Workshop” and “Workshop on climate change and social welfare in agricultural value chains”.

Vietnamese delegates took a commemorative photo

Vietnam Farmers’ Union delegated representatives of Farmers’ Unions and three provinces participating in the project workshops. Representatives of Oxfam at the regional level and from three countries- project implementing partners on social protection in Cambodia and Laos that take part in the program.

 

At the “2025 Regional Learning and Sharing Workshop and 2026 Planning Workshop,” delegates who exchanged views and shared the implementation progress, project strategy. Based on the theory application of change and the Outcome harvesting methodology, participants who worked in groups to compile and analyze project results according to the topic and social factors relating to social protection, gender equality, and climate change. Since then, countries have identified remaining gaps, exchanged experiences, and drawn adjustment strategy to effectively implement project activities in 2026.

 

With a focus on climate change and social protection, the “Workshop on Climate Change and Social protection in Agricultural Value Chains” which project implementing partners have exchanged and shared concerned issues.

 

Participants who were introduced to the Global and ASEAN policy frameworks for 2026–2030 on climate resilience networks (food, agriculture, and forestry), discussed to policies and practices on climate change adaptation and social protection for women workers in the informal sector, practiced strengthening financial planning skills for finance support and policy advocacy of climate change.

The project “Improved social protection and decent work for female farmers and informal workers in the shrimp and rice value chains in Vietnam” (DGD project) that is implemented by Oxfam Stichting Novib and partnerships in Viet nam. Farmers’ Union is one of the partners coordinating project implementation in An Giang, Ca Mau province, and Can Tho city.

 

The project aims to support 16,800 women farmers and seasonal workers in the shrimp and rice value chains that labors were accessed to social protection. This contributed to enhance gender equality and natural disasters resilience and climate change.
