The delegation emphasized that agritourism is an inevitable trend in ecological agriculture and the circular economy. When consumers can directly experience production processes, the value of products lies not only in the agri-products itself but also in trust in quality and safety

On February 8, the delegation, led by Mr. Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, and Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, visited Bon Bon Agritourism Cooperative in Moc Chau ward, Son La province.

Representing Son La Province were Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary General of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lo Minh Hung, the First Deputy Secretary General of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; along with representative leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and sectors.

The Bon Bon Agritourism Cooperative currently operates on more than 5 hectares of farmland. Its distinctive feature lies in integrating high-quality fruit cultivation with agritourism experiences, allowing visitors to directly harvest and enjoy farm products on-site.

The farm has introduced a variety of new and unique crops such as raspberries, American figs, cherry tomatoes, Shine Muscat grapes, passion fruit, and large-sized gourds and pumpkins, creating an attractive landscape. These have become popular “check-in” spots, especially during peak tourist seasons.

A highlight of the model is its high-tech strawberry production area, featuring imported varieties such as Hana (from Japan), King Berry (from South Korea), White Snow, Pink Snow, Sky, and Oishii (from Japan). All are cultivated under controlled conditions, ensuring optimal nutrition, humidity, and pest management in order to guarantee high-quality and safe products for consumers.

Beyond selling agricultural products, the Bon Bon Cooperative also offers experiential activities such as strawberry picking, greenhouse tours, learning about production processes, and on-site tasting. This approach significantly increases the value of agricultural products compared to traditional farming methods.

During the visit, MAE Minister Tran Duc Thang and VNFU Chairman Luong Quoc Doan commended the cooperative’s proactive efforts in researching and introducing new crop varieties that produce clean, safe, and high-value agricultural products.

They emphasized that this agritourism model represents a suitable direction for modern agricultural development, which combines agricultural production with services and tourism to enhance value per unit of cultivated land.

MAE Minister Tran Duc Thang also urged local authorities in Son La to continue supporting the Bon Bon Cooperative in obtaining planting area codes, developing product branding, applying advanced technologies, training high-quality human resources, and expanding market access.

He further highlighted that agritourism is an inevitable trend in ecological agriculture and the circular economy. When consumers can directly experience production processes, product value lies not only in the produce itself but also in trust regarding quality and safety.
