Commitment through an Action Program “Acting For Farmers”

Opening the meeting, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan expressed his honor at being re-nominated in An Giang, a land rich in revolutionary tradition and the country’s largest rice-producing region.

As the leader of the VNFU, he presented an action program centered on four key commitments. These include maintaining close ties with voters and faithfully representing their voices by regularly listening to their concerns, aspirations, and grievances, and conveying them to the National Assembly. He also committed to actively urging ministries, agencies, and local authorities to promptly address voters’ concerns.

He emphasized the importance of improving the quality of legislation and oversight in the interest of farmers, with a focus on agricultural and rural issues, safeguarding farmers’ legitimate rights and interests, and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negative practices.

Mr. Luong Quoc Doan also highlighted the need to remove policy bottlenecks, promote the rural economy, and closely engage at the local level to identify shortcomings in existing policies. He pledged to propose practical mechanisms and policies to the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government to support farmers in boosting production, expanding market access, increasing incomes, and improving living standards.

In his role as Chairman of VNFU, he reaffirmed his commitment to promoting farmers’ central role by advising and proposing policies for rural economic development and social protection, aligned with real conditions. He stressed the importance of empowering farmers as key actors in building new rural areas and contributing to national development.

At the meeting, after hearing the candidates’ profiles and action programs, voters in Long Phu Ward expressed strong support and appreciation for the candidates.

In an open and constructive atmosphere, voters raised a number of practical concerns. Regarding transport infrastructure, voter Truong Van Ro emphasized the urgent need to build the Tan Chau - Hong Ngu bridge to improve connectivity with Dong Thap Province, and to invest in transport routes linking Long Phu and Chau Phong to promote border economic development.

Regarding social protection, voter Nguyen Huu Du called for greater attention and concrete support policies for disadvantaged students, particularly those from large and low-income families.

Regarding household economic development, voter Vuong Huu Thinh expressed expectations that elected deputies would mobilize resources and guide farmers toward sustainable livelihoods, while also emphasizing the importance of voter oversight in holding deputies accountable to their commitments.

Several voters also proposed establishing local National Assembly offices to make it easier for citizens to raise concerns and feedback.

On behalf of the candidates, Mr. Trinh Lam Sinh, Secretary of the Chau Doc Ward Party Committee, acknowledged and directly responded to voters’ comments, affirming that voter expectations serve as both motivation and constructive pressure for candidates to fulfill their responsibilities.

Providing updates on local development, he noted that following the restructuring of the two-tier local administration model, An Giang has become the largest province in the Mekong Delta in terms of both area and population. Despite the recent restructuring, the province has maintained strong socio-economic growth and is aiming for breakthrough development in 2026.

We will also promote dialogue programs with the Government and relevant ministries and sectors as well as suggest greater investment in rural areas, agriculture, and high-tech agriculture,” Mr. Doan emphasized.
