Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Union, Chairman of the VNFU Central Executive Committee attended and chaired the meeting. Also attending were Mr. Pham Tien Nam – the First Vice - Chairman of VNFU; Mr. Dinh Khac Dinh, Bui Thi Thom, Nguyen Xuan Dinh, Cao Xuan Thu Van – Chairmen and chairwomen of VNFU; Representatives of leaders of VNFU departments and units; Representatives of leaders of provicial and city Farmers’ Union.  


At the meeting, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan congratulated, praised and appreciated the outstanding achievements of farmers as well as 63 typical cooperatives that have been gotten in the past year. 2023 is also the 11th year that VNFU has chaired and coordinated with relevant departments and units to organize the "Proud Vietnamese Farmers" Program. The Program really created deep marks, was recognized and appreciated by the Party and State leaders and received good social and media effects, created motivation to promote the movement of labor emulation, creativity, high technology application and proactive integration of farmer members at all levels; attracted the participation and investment of enterprises in the agricultural sector.


According to the VNFU leader, accounting for nearly 70% of the population and 50% of the social labor force directly engaged in agricultural - forestry - fishery production and handicrafts, Vietnamese farmers always wholeheartedly follow the Party with the creativity and solidarity, contributing to bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and the Resolutions of the VNFU  into life. After more than 36 years of implementing the Party's reform policy, agriculture, farmers and rural areas in our country have achieved comprehensive and outstanding development. The agricultural economy has always been the pillar and factor creating stabile development for the country, contribute to controlling inflation, stabilizing the macroeconomy, ensuring social security and effectively supporting industry, trade and service development.



“Making those glorious successes is the great contribution of officials, farmer members and agricultural cooperatives throughout the country. Among them, 100 Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers 2023, 63 typical agricultural cooperatives are the most active, dynamic, creative, daring to think, daring to do and courageous to overcome difficulties and challenges; boldly change the mindset of working, shifting it from agricultural production to agricultural economic development; know how to exploit existing potentials and strengths, be ready to absorb, apply new scientific and technological advances in production and business to enrich the family and help many other households escape from poverty and get rich. These are truly excellent farmers, representatives of the new class of farmers in the period of industrialization, modernization of agriculture, rural areas and international integration" – emphasized Mr. Luong Quoc Doan.



The examples of "Excellent Vietnamese Farmers" voted this year are all dynamic, creative farmers with the will to overcome difficulties to get rich, live responsibly and with gratitude to the community. In particular, they are also farmers who have made many practical and outstanding contributions to the agricultural restructuring program in association with new rural construction. These contributions are "leading" in the exciting recovery process of agriculture, farmers and rural areas, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic was repelled and controlled in Vietnam.


It can be seen that the 100 examples of excellent farmers are also typical representatives of the new generation of farmers - the era of 4.0 farmers who are full of dynamism, creativity and social influence that brought practical benefits and values to the community.


Notably, 2023 is also the first year that VNFU has organized a ceremony to honor and praise typical cooperatives disseminated and guided for establisment by VNFU. It is a political event with practical and effective significance in the FU activities and the peasant movement.


According to the Organizing Committee, the 2023 Proud Vietnamese Farmers Program is chaired by VNFU; Today's Rural Newspaper/Dan Viet coordinated with Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) was assigned to implement the event, which is an annual activity to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the VNFU foundation (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2023) and to celebrate the National Congress of VNFU term VIII (2023 - 2028). This year's program with main events will be held on October 12 and 13 in Hanoi with the participation of Party and State leaders, leaders of ministries and central branches.


On the occasion, 100 "Excellent Vietnamese Farmers in 2023" and 63 typical cooperatives disseminated, mobilized and guided for establishment by VNFU were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the VNFU Central Executive Committee.
