It is one of the main issues discussed by Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of VNFU Party Union, Chairman of VNFU and Mr. Huynh Quang Liem, General Director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on a meeting on March 11, 2022 in Hanoi.

Attending the meeting, on the side of VNFU, there were Vice-Chairman Pham Tien Nam, Vice-Chairwoman Bui Thi Thom and leader representatives of VNFU departments and units. On the side of VNPT's delegation, there were leader representatives of relevant focal units including VNPT-IT, Vinaphone, VNPT Net.

At the meeting, Chairman Luong Quoc Doan introduced to the VNPT Group's delegation about the organizational structure, functions, tasks and outstanding activities of VNFU. Over the years, VNFU has focused on promoting services and support activities for farmers, members such as: providing loans for investment and development of production and business; supplying input materials; supporting the trading of output products…, which has brought many practical effects. Up to present, the total capital of the Farmers Supporting Fund managed by FUs at all levels is over 4,000 billion VND; also, VNFU has strengthened its coordination with the banks (Social Policy, Agriculture and Rural Development, LienVietPostBank, etc.) to well implement the activities of entrusting loans to farmers.

In addition, over the past time, VNFU has focused on implementing activities to support farmers, members in digital transformation and international integration, specifically, increasing the use of online platforms in communication activities; organizing training for farmers, members, training in information technology application skills in production and business; supporting farmers to connect with e-commerce platforms to consume the products… Notably, VNFU has effectively coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and Vietnam Women's Union to organize activities to support the trading of agricultural products for farmers in the context of the recent serious Covid-19 pandemic.

However, it is also necessary to look directly at the reality that at present, farmers are very lacking and weak in both capacity and qualifications. In addition to the weak and outdated infrastructure, the human resources to implement digital transformation activities are also facing many difficulties and obstacles. Meanwhile, the amount of work to do digital transformation in the coming period is very large and requires fast and urgent progress.
Chairman Luong Quoc Doan affirmed that VNFU had always actively participated in the process of international integration and digital transformation of the country. VNFU has identified supporting farmers, members to integrate and transform digitally as one of the organization's urgent and long-term strategic tasks to achieve sustainable development goals. In particular, it is even more important when the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and continuing to implement the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with orientations to 2030 has been focused.

At the meeting, the delegates listened to Mr. Ha Thai Bao - Deputy General Director of VNPT-IT company presenting the main contents about proposing a number of solutions to promote digital transformation of VNFU in the next period.

The representative of VNPT Group also informed about the introduction of VNPT's experiences in consulting and supporting the implementation of digital transformation in 55/63 provinces and cities across the country; an introduction to the document management system and electronic work administration that has been deployed by VNPT Group in many localities, which has helped the state agencies and businesses realize the goals of building an paperless e-government where the operation and management can be deployed anytime and anywhere, the necessary information can be gotten to make the right decisions…

Representative of VNPT Group presented on proposing some solutions to promote digital transformation
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Luong Quoc Doan highly appreciated the activities and advantages of VNPT Group, especially with the role of the lead technology unit for the National population database system - which is also one of the six core national databases that play an important role in the process of building the e-Government towards Digital Government, digital economy and digital society in Vietnam.

“Vice-Chairman Pham Tien Nam will directly direct and assign VNFU Office to act as the focal point for exchange and close cooperation with VNPT Group. The two sides will discuss specific contents to put into building a cooperation program between the two parties. We hope that VNPT Group will continue to research, introduce and offer synchronous and effective technology solutions to promote the digital transformation process of VNFU in the future" – emphasized Mr. Luong Quoc Doan.
