Vice President Dinh Khac Dinh gave an overview of the Vietnam Farmers' Union. Vice President Dinh Khac Dinh said: The Vietnam Farmers' Union is a socio-political organization of the peasant class led by the Communist Party of Vietnam; the political foundation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The organization of the Vietnam Farmers' Union consists of 4 levels, with the important function of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members and farmers; organizing service activities, consulting, supporting farmers in production, business and life.
The Union has organized service activities to support farmers in terms of capital and input materials, while improving knowledge and production and business skills for members and farmers through training courses, supporting farmers in building brands, production area codes to trace the origin of products; supplying domestic consumption and export products; linking production and product consumption.
On that basis, in the 2023-2028 term, the Vietnam Farmers' Union will focus on implementing three key tasks: Strongly innovating methods of gathering and uniting farmers; actively developing collective economy in agriculture; improving the qualifications of farmers and Union officials at all levels.
Vice President Dinh Khac Dinh emphasized: Currently, the Vietnam Farmers' Union is maintaining and promoting friendly and cooperative relations with 78 bilateral and multilateral partners including United Nations agencies, foreign embassies in Vietnam, the United Nations Population Fund, the Asian Farmers' Union for Sustainable Rural Development, the World Farmers' Organization... to cooperate, promote the application of technology in agricultural production, exchange experiences in building models, training to improve capacity for Association officials, build programs and projects on agricultural, farmer and rural development associated with environmental protection, adaptation to climate change, ensuring social security...
The Vietnam Farmers' Union is an active and responsible member in participating in activities with partners, activities of organizations and farmers' movements in the region and the world. At the meeting, delegates discussed and exchanged about the cooperation possibilities between the two sides in supporting livestock breeds, crops, machinery, agricultural production equipment, connecting the consumption of agricultural products, especially traditional products, typical of localities and regions to introduce and promote to domestic and foreign organizations.
Mr. Kursad Ertugrul, Head of the Department in charge of cooperation with Vietnam, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said: TIKA is a government agency under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. TIKA has successfully implemented over 30,000 projects in 170 countries in many fields such as education, health, production, agriculture, aquaculture, social and administrative infrastructure, employment, clean water, culture and other fields...
Currently, TIKA has implemented many projects through representative offices in many countries around the world. Project implementation is carried out based on the needs of each country. TIKA will support people in kind and not in cash.
In particular, TIKA hopes to soon support plant varieties to members and farmers at the Association's facilities that were damaged by the recent storm No. 3 to help people reduce difficulties, quickly restore production, and soon stabilize their lives. Currently, there is no representative office in Vietnam, so TIKA hopes to cooperate with the Vietnam Farmers' Association through the Embassy of Türkiye in Hanoi.
At the meeting, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Dinh Khac Dinh hopes that this is an opportunity for the two sides to continue promoting and expanding cooperation to develop many essential and effective projects in the coming time.
