1,200 Youth Union members are participating in the blood donation “supporting compatriots to win the pandemic"

On the morning of September 28, 2021, the Standing Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc Youth Union in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion held the opening ceremony of the Voluntary Blood Donation Program "Sending drops of blood - Supporting the compatriots to win the pandemic". The program has received blood donation registrations from nearly 1,200 volunteers who are Youth Union members under the Central Agencies Bloc and it is expected that about 1,000 blood units will be collected.

All donated blood will be transferred to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces by the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (Hanoi). It aims to contribute to ensuring blood reserves for emergency and patient treatment in the face of severe blood shortage due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.


In particular, each donated blood unit will contribute an additional 10kg of rice, equivalent to VND 150,000 to the Fund "Sharing love - Joining hands to overcome the pandemic" in order to support people in difficult circumstances admist the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Mai Bac My - Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of VNFU informed that in the morning, there were many Youth Union members of VNFU participated in the voluntary blood donation program "Sending drops of blood - Supporting the compatriots to win the pandemic".


Moreover, VNFU Youth Union coordinated with the sponsors to donate 3.5 tons of rice to the fund "Sharing love - Joining hands to overcome the pandemic” launched by the the Standing Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc Youth Union.


"This is a meaningful activity, showing the spirit of solidarity, sharing and responsibility to the community of the Central Agencies Bloc Youth Union in general and VNFU Youth Union in particular when the pandemic has seriously afftected all the life aspects today” emphasized Mr. Mai Bac My.
