At the conference, on behalf of the An Giang Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the An Giang National Assembly Delegation, and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province - delivered a report on the outcomes of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly and the activities of An Giang’s National Assembly deputies during the session.
After hearing the report, voters in Cho Moi Commune expressed their satisfaction with the session’s outcomes, which particularly included the approval of several important laws and national policy decisions. They were especially pleased that the National Assembly passed a resolution on tuition fee exemptions for students at all levels and lowered the eligibility age for social welfare support for the elderly to 75.
In addition, voters in Cho Moi expressed deep concern over the prevalence of counterfeit and substandard goods, which pose risks to consumer health. They also voiced worries that, due to a good harvest, farmers give out loads of products to the market, resulting in the downward of prices, which leaves them struggling to choose suitable crops for sustainable economic development. Other pressing issues raised included overloaded waste storage facilities causing environmental pollution, and ongoing problems with land erosion.
Voter Phan Thanh Tri called on National Assembly deputies and relevant authorities to strengthen oversight, tighten management, and strictly handle the sale and distribution of counterfeit and substandard goods to ensure public confidence.
On behalf of the local authority, Mr. Doan Thanh Loc, Vice Chairman of the Cho Moi Commune People's Committee, acknowledged and addressed several voter concerns related to these issues.
On behalf of the An Giang National Assembly Delegation, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, VNFU Chairman, acknowledged the voters’ feedback and pledged to compile and submit their concerns to the provincial authorities, relevant ministries, and the central authority for consideration and resolution.
Mr. Luong Quoc Doan also shared with voters the policy of implementing the two-tier local authority system (provincial and commune levels). “As a member of the National Assembly Delegation and a member of the Party Central Committee, I encourage local leaders and officials to overcome initial difficulties and fulfill the responsibilities in assisting the people effectively. I also call on voters to stand united and support the newly streamlined commune-level authority system so that it can soon operate in a stable and efficient manner to best support the community,” Mr. Luong Quoc Doan emphasized.
Regarding the current situation in agricultural production, characterized by good harvests leading to price drops, the VNFU Chairman shared: “In order to increase the value of agricultural products and eliminate the problem of price drops despite abundant harvests, farmers should collaborate in production to develop raw material areas that ensure both quality and productivity.
On this occasion, the An Giang Provincial National Assembly Delegation also presented gifts to two policy beneficiary families in Cho Moi commune.
